Year 6 Explore the World of Engineering at IntoUniversity!

Year 6 have had a fantastic time so far during their three days at IntoUniversity, taking part in a range of exciting, hands-on activities linked to engineering.

Working in small groups, the children researched influential figures in engineering and discovered more about their achievements. They also enjoyed a visit to the Discovery Museum, where they learnt all about George Stephenson and his famous Rocket locomotive. Inspired by their visit, they took part in a rocket-building competition to see whose creation could travel the furthest!

The children have also been finding out more about university life and exploring the different subjects and courses they could study in the future.

During a LEGO engineering workshop, they worked collaboratively to design and build vehicles in response to a specific brief. After testing their creations to see whose travelled the furthest, they evaluated their designs, made improvements and put them to the test again.

It has been a fantastic opportunity for Year 6 to develop their teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and engineering skills, while discovering more about the exciting possibilities available to them in the future. Well done, Year 6!
