Year 1a - Marvellous Maths

To support our transition from Reception to Year 1, our first maths topic has been working with numbers to 10.  During the topic we have been recognising numbers, counting forwards and backwards to 10, counting to and from a given number within 10 and counting out sets.  To support our maths we have also enjoyed singing a number of counting songs.

Over the next few weeks, we are going to look at 'zero', ordering numbers and recognising what 1 more and 1 less than a number is.  We have done lots of practical work to embed our numbers to 10 and the children have enjoyed accessing the maths area on an afternoon to practise some new skills.
